Aims to develop each girl holistically and guide them through today’s world.
Women in India are bound to face some of the most current challenges of time, such as poor health and hygiene, child marriage, rape, domestic violence, sexual harassment, honor killings, female infanticide, caste issues followed with a long list of other issues and challenges. They are usually surrounded by social taboos and stigmas hindering her progress in each and every sphere of life.
Having worked in the slum for many years, we started noticing that young girls struggle growing up and hardly have a future to dream about. For below poverty level families, girls become a burden to families at times. From a young age, they start life early. Most of them are either encouraged to find a job at a very young age or parents getting rid of them by getting them married. Most of them at a young age are either working at someone’s house as a maid or alternatives. Especially in today’s world, it is hard to see young girls getting lost with the emerging culture between youths. There is no one to tell them the difference between good or bad. There is no one to hear from them, or talk to them through something or counsel them or guide them for their future or educate them socially and literally.
exists to break the chains of poverty by providing sustainable solutions and that’s what the Asha Girl project is all about
We want to change the cycle of each family, we don’t want them to repeat what their mother has been doing or done in the past. We want to teach the value of coming out of the situation and independently standing on their own feet. We want to develop each girl holistically and guide them through today’s world.
