Kolkata is called “The City Of Joy”, and it is very deserving of this title. The people of Kolkata are some of the most gracious and hospitable people in all of India.
The city itself is a city of contrast. The rich are living right next to the poorest of poor, more people, the streets are full of life and chaotic, cows and dogs are on every street corner, the air is infused with the smell of curry and smoke, the concrete is daunting, the Bengali language is considered the sweetest language in the world, and the colors of the world are painted on every building.
MAKING AN IMPACT
There are over 20 million people who live in Kolkata and more than 40% live in the slums. Momentum Global is here to come alongside the slum families and increase their quality of Life and bring Hope and Love by creating sustainable solutions through education, medical solutions, and community development projects.
In West Bengal, there are beautiful villages everywhere, and Momentum Global India works in Paschim Medinipur District. We have over 200 children in our schools and have developed amazing relationships with the village families. Building relationships and educating the children is our primary mission in the village.
