Our Story

Momentum Global was born through the faithful work of Mahadeb Mondal in the slums of Kolkata, India.

As children and families experienced real transformation, John DeYoung recognized a calling to join the mission.

Together, they were called to serve communities in the hardest places—equipping children and families to break the cycle of generational poverty through holistic care, and bringing hope and restoration to the marginalized, widows, orphans, and the brokenhearted.

Seeing the transformative impact of Mahadeb’s work in the lives of children and families, John DeYoung recognized a divine calling to join his brother. United by this vision, they set out to build a community devoted to breaking the chains of poverty through holistic development—bringing hope and restoration to the marginalized, widows, orphans, and the brokenhearted.

Momentum Global was born out of a reaction to the gritty work that Mahadeb Mondal was doing in the slums of Kolkata, India.

Seeing the transformative impact of Mahadeb’s work in the lives of children and families, John DeYoung recognized a divine calling to join his brother. United by this vision, they set out to build a community devoted to breaking the chains of poverty through holistic development—bringing hope and restoration to the marginalized, widows, orphans, and the brokenhearted.

In 2014, after spending time together in India, Mahadeb and John became like family—united as brothers with a shared calling to serve impoverished communities.

Out of this bond, Momentum Global was born, with a vision to break the cycle of poverty through holistic discipleship and life-changing opportunities.

Through education, discipleship, healthcare, and vocational training, they are committed to reaching the broken, the widowed, the oppressed, and the sick—bringing lasting transformation to vulnerable communities.

Momentum Global was born from a simple yet powerful vision: to break the cycle of poverty and bring hope to the marginalized through Christ-centered, holistic development.

What began in the slums of India—teaching children and walking alongside families—has grown into a movement of lasting transformation and impact.

We believe true change happens when spiritual renewal and practical action come together. That’s why we focus on education, discipleship, vocational training, and healthcare—empowering children and their families to transform entire communities.
